Before I started producing i took some keyboard lessons as a kid but i actually didn’t really liked it. After a couple of years I started out listening to hiphop through my sister who was dating a local rapper at the time. I think i started out listening to 2pac, that’s when do 4 love just got out and it was the shit(I still love that beat allthough i later learned the beat got jacked because it’s originally a Pharcyde joint produced by Jay Dee). After that i got more in depth with hiphop through artists like Dilated Peoples, Reflection Eternal, Black Starr and Arsonists that really made me get more into (underground) hiphop.

So me and a couple of friends started rhyming, spraying graffiti and all that stuff, but we didn’t have beats. We continued writing rhymes and kicking freestyles but after a while those friends quit all their activity involving hiphop and I met up with some other local dudes who were doing graffiti and rapping, and they also tried to make their own beats. Through them i got a computer program and i started messing around with that, digging up the record collection from my parents. After a couple of years of playing around i started buying my own gear and records. Since then I stopped rapping and i’ve been constantly building beats and recording tracks with vocalists and I haven’t been able to stop ever since, like it’s a voice in your head keeps telling you that you have to do something. Right now i’m focussing on making full songs to release a solo ep with all kinds of crazy stuff in 2012. Let’s go!

My name is Sander Duyvis, i’m 24 years old and live in Amsterdam. I’m a producer and audio-engineer in education. My beats have variations of genre but most of the time i make R&B and Hip-Hop. A trademark of my music is that i mostly work with real instruments. Samples and synthezisers are not really in my field. I started making music about 8 years ago but the last couple of years it became serious. I have worked with different vocalists so i get to work with different genres. My goal is to have a proffesional studio so i can also mean something for the beginning vocalists and musicians and to create bigger musical projects.

Remy Referno

Remy Referno, born Sept 23rd 1985, is a Jackin/Tech/progressive house DJ/producer from Amsterdam.

Remy’s personal interest in music with music started even at a young age when he was introduced to different music genres like hiphop ,dance, pop, rock and country. This is when he was introduced to artists like A Tribe Called Quest, Bone Thugs and Harmony, Alan Jackson, Frankie Knuckles, Daft Punk, Tiesto, Pink Floyd, The Rolling Stones, Toby Keith, Bob Dylan, Billy Joel, Michael Jackson, 2 Unlimited. Without him knowing at that time, this formed the base for his musical career.

In 2008 Remy found out about the art of spinning records by some friends who were deejaying and organizing there own parties. This intrigued him to such an extent, that from that moment on he knew without doubt that he wanted to become a DJ. Within a short time young Remy developed a lot of skills by practicing and by following workshops and master classes at Studio West Amsterdam a.o.
His skills were being recognized as promoters soon started to ask him to warm up for popular DJs in clubs. Since Remy was successful at doing these DJ sets and setting the party right, more bookings followed and have been coming in ever since. Up till this day Remy Referno has deejayed at several places in Amsterdam like Escape club, club Rain, club Home, club Bunglow8 and more.

At the end of 2010 this DJ felt he wanted to add an extra dimension to the music he spinned. That’s why he decided he wanted to explore the production side of music as well. This resulted to making mash ups and edits in the beginning, but after a while Remy expanded this to making bootlegs and eventually also to producing his own songs.

His love for music also expanded to another field when Remy Referno decided he wanted to inspire young DJ’s like himself as well. That’s why in 2011 he enrolled in a peer education project where he started teaching young kids the art of deejaying. Inspired as he is, one can already tell that this is definitely not the last new dimension he added to his musical career. So keep your eyes on this DJ/producer as we can expect to hear a lot more from Remy Referno in the future
